An Outdoor Learning Experience

We offer a 6-week homeschool fish camp and Masonboro Island explorer during Spring and Fall. We usually pick up at Trails End or the Wrightsville Beach Boat ramp from 9 AM to noon. We fish around Masonboro Inlet for Spanish Mackerel, Sharks, Bluefish, Flounder, Redfish, King Mackerel, Cobia, Croakers, Spot, Gray Trout, and more. Students also stop on the islands to explore sandbars and wade in the calm waters of Masonboro Sound. We love sharing the change of seasons and being able to show students how to formulate a plan but be willing to change it according to the weather, tide and seasons. Sometimes we get to harvest blue crabs, clams and even shrimp!
